2021 Green and Whitegold Festival:  A Safe Event

We want everyone who comes to St Austell for the Green and Whitegold Festival to feel confident and comfortable at the event.

As we were planning the festival it was uncertain whether all remaining social distancing restrictions would be lifted on the 21st June, and as such, we planned to run the event under ‘section 3’ guidelines.

We are equally committed to ensure the comfort of our festival facilitators, volunteers and staff as we are to our public visitors, so please everyone remember HANDS, FACE, SPACE and be thoughtful and respectful to others.

We have drafted a COVID risk assessment and have taken these actions:

The vast majority of events are taking place outside

Any cover we provide for outdoor areas will be open sided to ensure air flow

We have planned the festival site to enable social distancing between stalls and to enable pedestrian flow throughout town

Hand sanitiser facilities will be provided throughout the festival footprint with signs to encourage use

Workshop leaders will be asked to wear masks if they are likely to be in closer contact with members of the public (unless medically exempt) and masks will be provided for anyone taking part in those workshops

Tools used for workshops and workshop tables will be cleaned in between uses

Performances will be ‘on the move’ so to avoid gathering of larger crowds

Our walks and tours will be limited to 30 people

Some indoor spaces will have a directed one way system

Some outdoor spaces will have a one way system, or direction to ‘walk right’

Indoor spaces may require you to wear a mask (unless you are medically exempt) and you will be reminded of this at the door if this is the case.
