Tywardreath
The tight-knit community offer up a whole host of activities and groups for all to enjoy and has a welcoming traditional Cornish village feel.
Whether you’re passing through Tywardreath as part of your jounrey, visiting for the first time, or re-fuelling during a countryside walk, the village has plenty of essential services to enjoy; a pub and restaurant, fish and chip shop, bus service to name just a few.
Locals get stuck in with a huge number of groups and organisations, including Tywardreath Morris dancing, WI, Friendship Club, Tywardreath Allotment Society and Tywardreath Garden Club, as well as hosting village shows, whist drives and quiz nights.
Arguably one of the biggest events in the village’s calendar that never fails to draw big crowds is The Tywardreath Trotter and Fun Run. Held in late July each year, the event challenges keen runners to complete a seven mile course which takes in some of the area’s stunning scenery. The slightly less energetic can sign up to a one mile fun run. Funds raised from the races are donated to local village charities and over the past 10 years have raised more than £20,000.
