WORKSHOP ON CLAY SAILING BARGE
Words by Nikki Hotchin
Do you fancy doing something a bit different this Easter holidays?
Inspired by the china clay mining industry – get crafty on Good Friday and make your own clay worker on an authentic clay ship.
Lady Daphne, moored in Charlestown, is a historic Thames sailing barge and carried china clay from 1923 to 1932.
Using historical images and films of the china clay industry, you will learn how to make your own bal maiden or kettle boy out of air drying clay. Take your creation home with you afterwards as a memento!
All ages welcome. Children to be accompanied by an adult.
£5 per participant. For more details and to book your place click here
